Wrinkle Reduction

Wrinkle ReductionFacial wrinkles can be divided into dynamic and static types. Dynamic wrinkles are seen only during times of facial expression and are caused by the facial muscles pulling on the skin. If the muscles tug on the skin daily for years, dynamic wrinkles become static and are seen when the face is at rest. Environmental factors such as sun damage, smoking and skin type can also influence wrinkle development.

Board-certified, fellowship-trained oculoplastic surgeon Katherine J. Zamecki, MD, FACS, is able to offer her patients a variety of non-surgical and surgical methods of wrinkle reduction. Botox® and Xeomin® are used to reduce dynamic wrinkles so that they do not become static wrinkles. Static wrinkles can be addressed with facial fillers like Radiesse®, Restylane®, Juvederm®, and Perlane®. Pellevé® treatments utilize radiofrequency to reduce static wrinkles in the office. Laser skin resurfacing with the Cortex™ C02/Erbium laser results in smoother skin and helps build collagen to plump up the skin and turn back the clock on wrinkles. Very often, brow lifts, upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty and facial implants can be selected and combined to create a customized treatment plan to reduce facial wrinkles.  Call 203-791-2020 to schedule a consultation.
