BOTOX/XeominBOTOX in Danbury and New Milford

What is Botox?

Botox is an FDA approved treatment to reduce excessive dynamic facial wrinkles. Taking advantage of a naturally occurring byproduct of Clostridium, small doses of botulinum are injected into specific muscle groups to reduce the contraction of these muscles, resulting in the elimination or reduction of dynamic wrinkles. Static wrinkles are also often significantly reduced. The concept of using small doses of botulinum has been used in the field of ophthalmology for several decades and cosmetic use has been very popular for over 10 years.

Botox/Xeomin Treatment

We also offer Xeomin, another FDA approved treatment for wrinkle reduction. These products are most often used to treat the lines between the eyebrows that form during frowning (11’s). Other areas of the face can be treated, such as crow’s feet (lines radiating out from the eye), outer brow for a brow lift, lips, and neck. Treatment with Botox or Xeomin takes just a few minutes, requires no anesthesia and results in no significant downtime. Results are seen within 5-7 days and typically last 3-5 months, depending on the person, the area treated and dosing. Board-certified, fellowship-trained oculoplastic surgeon Katherine J. Zamecki, MD, FACS can customize treatments for each patient. Call 203-791-2020 to schedule a consultation.
